I have gained more than 30 pounds in the past two and a half years because I am either in bed or in a wheel chair since I lost a leg and I eat the same as I did when I was active. Which diet would be the most effective (mostly vegeterian)?

Hi Renee.
If you want to loss weight fast, the cabbage soup diet works for me. However, for long term, you have to change the way you eat.
Here are few things i suggest you to do.
Eat slow burning Carbs - whole wheat bread and pasta, yams, vegetable. Also, eat oatmeal at least once a day (the plain one, anything with flavor has tons of sugar in it)
lean meat - skinless chicken breast, lean cut of steak, lean ground beef (95% lean), tuna (if you buy canned, make sure it is in water, not in oil), egg white (egg yolk is where the fat is) and low fat diary(if you eat yogurt, make sure it is plain. Worst kind of yogurt is the one with fruit at the bottom)
healthy fat - roasted dry unsalted nuts (almond, pecan), olive oil, seeds avocados
