A very bad breakfast

By in Daily Health Tips, My diet

I wake up late today because I was out drinking last night. I am so hungry and I want to try the new Dunkin Donut French toast twist. I see the commercial and the French toast twist is so attractive. I go to Dunkin Donut around 8:30 am and it is already sold out.

So I have no choice but to order other breakfast. I ordered the Sausage egg and cheese croissant and a French Cruller donut. French cruller is the only donut I like. I don’t like the other donut because they are soft. I love that crunch feeling and the taste of egg. The sausage egg and cheese taste good. It is hot and tasty and can cure my hunger.

The Dunkin Donut’s French cruller is cover with sugar icing. It is made with Choux pastry (the same kind of dough that uses to make cream puff). Before 2003, Dunkin Donut‘s French cruller are made by hand. Now it is twisted by the machine and deep fried. According to Dunkin Donut’s nutrition fact sheet, a French cruller has 150 calories and 70 calories are from fat. It contains 8 gram of fat (12%) and 2 gram of saturated fat. It also contains 17g of carbs, which most are come from the sugar icing.

The sausage egg and cheese sandwich is not that healthy either. A piece of sausage, piece of fried egg and one slice of full fat cheese inside a buttery croissant. It is one of the worst breakfast sandwiches you can get. 1 sandwich contains 690 calories (worse than a big Mac or Bk’s whooper). 460 of those 690 calories are from fat, which is more than 60%. The sausage egg and cheese croissant bring you 78% daily value of fat and 88% daily value of Saturated Fat. Also, it is high in cholesterol and sodium.

This breakfast bring me 840 calories, 90% daily value of fat and 250 mg of cholesterol. Even though it is not as bad as the Mickey D ‘s big breakfast (1220 calories, 93% daily value of fat, and 465mg of cholesterol), this Dunkin Donut breakfast is far from healthy.
