    1. The BBC story, probably based on a Reuters story, is nonsense. Researchers studied ways to reduce the severity of decay in berries stored at 50F for one to two weeks. The conclusion was that less-decayed berries are higher in antioxidants than really rotten ones.

      Berries treated with ethanol, tea tree oil, or one of several other preparations, were not as badly rotten as the untreated berries. And they had higher levels of antioxidants.
