    Cabbage and Weight Loss

What do people look in weight loss diets? First of all, they look for fast results. Nobody has the time or inclination to wait for months together to see the needle moving backwards; they all want results fast, the faster the better. One such great fast-acting diet is the cabbage soup diet. This is indeed tailor made for those people who need to look good fast – like a bride who needs to get into that dress, or a mother of two suddenly wanting to get into that pre-children jeans, and so on. It is possible, anyone can do it – you can do it too!

So, how do you plan for this wonder diet? What are the recipes involved? How do you fast forward fat burning with a modest vegetable such as cabbage? These are some questions that are popping in your mind right now. Okay, let us answer them one by one.

    The Plan of Action

You will need to be only about seven days on this diet and you can profit of some astounding results. The recipe mainly use would be cabbage soup – simple and plain cabbage soup. Be warned that the cabbage often has a very peculiar smell, which may leave much to be desired. If you are among those who simply cannot stand the smell, then you might like to consider the cabbage soup pill instead which is just as efficient as cabbage soup.

Before you go adopting any kind of diet, ensure that you have your medical practitioner know about it. You should never attempt any type of slimming exercise or diet without the knowledge and supervision of a qualified medical practitioner because you might develop sudden problems and need emergency medical intervention.

How Does This Cabbage Soup Diet Recipe Work?

Basically, cabbage soup is a filler meal, and cabbage has one of the least calories while it has plenty of nutrients. Hence, when the person has the cabbage soup diet, the fat burning would result from the fact that the person’s stomach would get filled with the cabbage and kill the hunger. No hunger – no calories. No calories – no fat. No fat – reserve fat burning. This is the chain reaction that it sets.

Hence, in a matter of seven days, a good portion of your fat would have been consumed by the body to provide energy to it, since the cabbage soup diet would not provide it any calories.

Before you run to the kitchen to prepare this wonder cabbage soup diet – take down the recipe for the fastest fat burning diet yet known to work –

    1. Cabbage cut small – 1 medium size, cut small
    2. Onions - 4-6 medium size, minced
    3. Tomatoes - 2-4 small size, diced
    4. Green peppers - 1-2 small, minced
    5. Celery - ½ a cup minced
    6. Cube of Maggie chicken – for flavor if so wanted
    7. Onion soup mix - for thickness (optional)
    8. Pepper/salt/ parsley/garlic powder, etc for garnishing

You will need to adopt this cabbage soup diet in combination with fruits and vegetables of your preference. Exclude bananas from your list of fruits for the first four days, since these are heavy on calories. On day 5 you could include a little meat in your diet (choose from chicken or beef – no pork) and tomatoes. Day 6 and 7 should have rice along with the soup and meat accompanying the soup.

Then, watch your fat melt away literally in front of your eyes!

I love cabbage soup, any low calorie healthy soup is great for a weight loss program — it is filling, and has lots of nutrition from all the veggies. I would recommend adding a scoop of unflavored protein powder (I use biopro protein, no fat and only 80 calories a scoop for 20 g of protein) — that way you are supporting your muscles and body too. For a short term, yes. It is one of the fastest and easiest diet available. However, this is not something for long term since most people just can’t stand for eating cabbage soup forever

    Day 8: 211.4. Day 1: 213.6

Not real impressive for Barbara and I who started at 140 and weighed in today at 142.4. I swear we followed it a “T”. Do you think the fat will “pour” off starting tomorrow?? I am looking forward to my granola, yogurt and almonds. Disappointed in the Effort.

It is true that low calory foods such as cabbage can be used in a low calory diet. Managed properly any intake of calories less than those required by the body for normal functioning can contribute to weight loss at the rate of 3500 calories per pound, but the type of food has to prevent muscle loss and promote fat burning.
Cabbage is known also for being a food that assists in cleansing the colon, and it is probably this property that causes fast weight loss for a short time. Once the colon is empty of trash that had accumulated over the years then weight loss can no longer take place at the same rate. Other foods that have a colon cleansing advantage include leafy greens, garlic, lemons, sesame seeds(or tahini), psyllium seed husks, green tea and fruit.

Believe it or not, my old friend (very healthy at age 70s) is forbid by doctor from eating vegetables. Reason: Too many. Heh.

There might be lots of diet menu, but is it really healthy actually?
Eating cabbages are indeed good, but where does the callory come from?

For me, the best method for losing weight and keeping health is doing regular sport. Balance between food and sport.

I tried this unaware. I wanted to feed my body some vegetables, so I went on cabbage soup for about four days in a row. The cabbage soup prepared in a very similar manner. I noticed one thing, I would load up the cabbage soup (I mean eat) say at 9a.m then go for classes, but then 2 hours later, I would feel like I hadn’t eaten anything. At such a time, i would be desperate for a hamburger. After about four days, some of my friends said I looked thinner, asking me if I had any problems?
