Congee Recipe
Here are a few Congee Recipe. They are easy to make so you should try it at home
White Congee
1 cup of rice (better use Chinese rice, Japanese rice will give wried texture because it is too sticky. Other rice won’t give the same creamy feels )
10 cup of water
a teaspoon of salt
add rice and water in a large pot. When water is boiled, turn it down to medium low and put the lid on. Let it cook in medium low for 1 – 2 hours or until the congee is creamy. Stir occasionally.
Other congee.
Follow the instruction of White congee. Add meat after water is boiled.
Some ingredient that is easy to break (fish, vegetable or century egg). After congee is done, pour in it a smaller pot. Add ingredient and cook in high power until ingredient is cooked.
Tips.
If you are lazy to stir the congee, buy a Chinese soup spoon (the short ceramic one that you use in Chinese restaurant). Place it at the bottom of pot after you add rice and water. The spoon will turn itself because of the heat and it will constantly stirring the congee for you
