So I am working out in the gym today. There is a guy who thinks he is the strongest man in the world. (There is always those kind of guy in the gym. They think they can lift more than anyone else and that make him “better”).
So that guy is doing the cable row for his back. He was doing 150 pound with a close grip. He was such an attention whore that he try to bang the weight to get others attention. He screams like retard when he is doing. That’s ok even it is distributing. However, he can’t handle the 150 pound so he swing his back when he pull. The right form of row is that you have to hold you back straight so you use your back to pull the weight.
Here is a video on how to do cable row in the right way
However, if you swing, you are not working your back. Instead on working with you back, you are pulling with you motion. Not only you are not working your back, it is much easier for you to get injured. If you swing back when you pull, you will swing forward when you release and that swing motion can hurt your lower back.
So I stand next to him, put my hand on his back and tell him to hold his upper body there. Guess what? He can’t even do one rep.
this guy try to put too much weight, he end up swing it. It is one of the most common error of normal people who try to show off. Only work with weight that you can handle…
