    Green Tea Helps You Lose Weight

    Green tea is believed to be a potential agent, which can help you to lose weight. Weight loss has become a serious matter in the present world. The possible reasons for weight loss can be many such as lifestyle factors, the diet and stress and strain the modern life. Irrespective of the possible reasons, there is a need for an ultimate solution since the weight gain or obesity can lead to many serious health hazards such as diabetes, and the heart diseases. Green tea is projected as an effective weight loss remedy since many of the reports show positive effects.

    Green tea is primarily appreciated for the weight loss since it is a natural substance. Now, many artificial products are available in the market, claiming that are effective for weight loss. Since most of them manifested side effects, people have started searching for reliable natural products. Green tea is an herbal decoction, which is made from the unfermented leaves of Camellia sinensis. It is a proven stimulant that is regularly used as a beverage in the eastern countries. It is postulated that the green tea have medicinal properties and the traditional medicinal systems support the argument with evidences. It can be used to protect the heart, liver, skin, pancreas, oral systems and most importantly as a curative for cancer. However, the effectiveness of the green tea to lose weight cannot be proved from the medicinal properties. But, the scientific crowd is relying on the active ingredients of the green tea.

    How green tea promote weight loss

    Green tea is recommended for the diet aid mainly because of its multifaceted effects on health. The major active component that attributes the properties to the green tea are the polyphenols such as catechin, epicatechin, epicatechin gallate, gallaogatechin, epigallocatechin, and apigallocatechin gallate (known as EGCG). Even though it have alkaloids such as caffeine, the EGCG is effective to compensate their effect and trigger the metabolism rate. The studies show that EGCG, which is a natural antioxidant, is also an effective thermogenic that can burn off the calories. Using the green tea, energy expenditure and metabolic rate is hiked at a rate of 4%, which will certainly help you for weight loss.

    Green tea catechins will also acts as a glucose regulator. It regulates the insulin level in the body and inhibits the sudden rise of insulin in the body after the food, which may initiate the fat conversion. The lowering of the insulin level prevents the sugar level rise and the fat storage, which ultimately prevent the weight gain. And, the influence in blood sugar level has proven some effect in the appetite level, also. The continuous intake of green tea is suspected to decrease the appetite, which naturally contribute to the weight loss.

    To add on, if you do not even count any of the above attributes of herbal green tea too, a simple factor will certainly add a cutting edge to green tea. If you are lenient enough to just substitute the usual morning drink, which is rich with calories, with a cup of green tea itself can definitely help you lose weight.

    How to use green tea for your diet

    The easiest way to include green tea in your diet is to drink it. However, you could also use greentea extract pill and green tea patch.

    Drink green tea – This is the best way and the most effect way to get the full benefit from green tea. Since it is still unknown which anti-oxide in green tea encourage fat loss, it is the best to take it with its original form. The easiest way is to put green tea bag in hot water and let it rest for 3 to 4 minutes. However, you could also try LIPTON Diet Green Tea with Citrus or LIPTON Diet Green Tea with mix barriers (most believe commercial tea product contain only small amount of tea)

    Green tea patch – it is a patch that contain some ingredient of green tea. All you have to do is to put the patch on your body for a few hours and your skin will absorb. The manufacture claim it equal 20 cup of green tea with only 63 gram of caffeine (around one cup of coffee). That mean the green tea diet patch is not nature and some anti – oxide might loss during the manufacture process.

    Green tea diet pill
    – these diet pills contain green tea as active ingredient. It is a safer alternative for more hardcore diet pill. The pill contain more than just green tea so I would not recommend you to take these green tea diet pills

    What is the best time to drink Green tea for fat losing purpose? Breakfast or Lunch?

    Here is my answer.

    Drink three cup of green tea everyday. One before breakfast, one before lunch and one around 3 o’clock.

    The extra fluid from green tea will help food expand in your stomach. Hence you will feel full by eating less food. Also, Green tea will help you digest faster.

    Green tea can impede the absorption of iron. However, it can be fix by adding milk and lemon in tea

    I have used lipton green tea Diet with citrus,and have used same product wth” berry flavoring” and like it somewhat better,my comment or question is WHY CAN I NOT FIND THE BERRY FLAVORED ANY LONGER??????? was this just a test market or what…any help would be greatly appreciated…

    I found the tea bag of Lipton Green Tea mix berry on Amazon. And i found the page of the Lipton diet green tea with berry on Lipton’s site. That page is labeled new so i think it might not be available national wide. I tried Lipton’s locate a store but they don’t have the product listed..too bad i can’t help you one this on dude

    I drank decaffienate Celestial Seasonings green tea twice a day for a week and lost 3 pounds! (without changin gmy diet) I stopped drinking it and gained it all back :(

    I have used green tea with citrus for a few monthes now. Have lost 20 pounds and my hair and nails grow extremely fast. I feel great and buy it buy the case. Could not live without it now. Cokes just taste nasty!

    I’m trying to come off soda and start drinking something else, something more healthy. I’m aftraid of the caffiene headache if I come off cold turkey. Do any of the Lipton Diet Green teas contain caffiene?

    The decaf one is less effective than the normal one. Drinking the tea will help, but you need to change your diet to lose weight too. Give me more detail (weight, eating habit, exercise habit) and i will give you a few tip to speed up your weight loss process

    I try to drink green tea every day but instead of making a single cup at a time i brew 12 in 2l and then refrigerate it, will it still hold its benefits cold?

    I have been drinking green tea for awhile now. Although not the Lipton until lately. I have been drinking the canned Arizona green tea. Within 4 months I lost 20 pounds and can actually slip into a medium shirt size now. I wieghted 180 now am 160 and bout 5′8 and age 18. I worked out in the process everyday with 200 jumping jacks, 30-40 push ups and 10-15 pull ups, and once in while the occasional bike ride. I can do more now in my 2 months and excerise does help improve with the green tea. You also need to eat less and what not, I say skip lunch and go for breakfast and dinner. Can’t can give you any infomation about the Lipton but it does help you digest more and go to the bathroom I gotta say. Am stuck at 160 but am sure with 2 nice cold brewed Lipton Green tea lemon style and my usual Arizona I’ll continue to tone and lose wieght. This was just a personal thing if anyone wanted to know how much I lost or anything and want to follow my regiement. There are better ones but I find this more comforting

    The theory that Green Tea promotes weight loss is a true fact. From April 2006-July 2006 I lost 13 pounds drinking green tea. But the thing is, if you’re serious about losing the weight with green tea, you need to contribute the tea into your diet more than anything else. For example, when i was dieting, i would drink 6 cups a day and instead of water, i would make green tea every time i was thirsty. it really works, and as for the Lipton Green Tea, the diet one has no calories and it’s a great on-the-go drink and fills you right up.

    Why can’t we get Diet Green Tea with Mixed Berry in TN? I can get it in Franklin KY at Wal-mart. I love it and buy 4 cases at a time. But I am tired of driving to KY to get it. The stores here said there was no such thing, wellllll….I took them a bottle.

    I have been working the grave yard shift at my work for about 9 months now. And in that 9 months i have gained a lot of weight. I work at a hotel, my job is pretty much sitting at a computer and waiting, i find i end up eating to keep my self awake! If i was to replace my eating with Green Tea would it supress my appitite and maybe help me lose weight?

    Fasting is the worst way to lose weight. It is true you will drop weight rapidly. However, you will gain back every single pound you lost (in a lot of case gain more) once you start eating again. I did a master cleanse and drop like 10 pound in 15 day (for detox, not lose weight) and gain all the weight back. Fasting is not a good way to lose weight.

    Patricia: Do you have a link to some article about that diet? I can’t find anything about the 12 day green tea diet online.

    Mikael: Green tea will help. Also eat food that are low in carbohydrate. Food with sugar will make you feel sleepy

    I used green tea (in a very pure, no sugar added form) to drop a lot of weight after I completed a bulking cycle with my weight training. It definitely helps and I like it better than coffee. Although my dentist tells me it’s actually worse for my teeth.

    this is in regards to the comment that fasting will make you put the weight back on. this is not true. well it did not happen for me. I think it can be different for each person! i lost from it then started eating meals again, and just made sure I was healthy and had plenty of water etc!

    Ive been taking in Lipton Tea (green and black) for near 2 and a half months now..plus the apple diet..but sad to say i cant really find to time to do a real exercise..but the good thing is that, i feel better now..my clothes are quite loosing..well ive been thinking if only i perfectly did the regular exercise I could attain more than this..do you guys need some info about my experience

    Ok. So i did a little reasearch and the recommended dosage for green tea is four cups a day. May i suggest two in the morning with breakfast and two at night before you go to bed or with dinner. Not too bad. Also, four servings of antioxidant rich fruit (any fruit dark and rich in color) a day is great and should have amazing effects on health and skin. example: peaches, lemons etc. Apples, i don’t think because the inside is white. Tomatoes are a great source.

    Why can we not get the Green Tea in peach flavor in our area anymore? It was in the NC area before the berry flavor which I do not care for. The peach was delicious. I see a larger selection available on a sign that is in the local Wal Mart. How can I find where it is available?

    I want to lose 15 pounds. I started drinking the NEW snapple diet green tea (mango is amazing) it has 0 calories. I don’t have an appetite so i’m just not eating. I’ll have a fruit once a day. And excersise. Ami just waisting my time. Will i lose the weight ???
