How Extra-Protein (Whey) Powder can help weight loss
People have always been of the impression that proteins are food substances that lead to weight gain. However, researches have proven that this is no longer true as protein supplements, especially whey protein, proves to be of great benefit to those on an exercise program and weight loss program.
The principle on which it is proven that protein supplements help in weight loss is that exercise helps in the growth of muscles. And it is with the help of protein supplements that muscles can grow at it is best by producing a positive nitrogen balance within the body. It is also possible for protein supplements to give a negative nitrogen balance when these supplements are not utilized properly. This is why it is important that when you consume protein supplements like whey powder, you should also use this protein to develop the muscles in your body through exercise.
With the aging process of the body, we tend to lose muscle at slow rate. However with the right protein supplements like whey powder, and exercise, we can at least maintain the muscle strength and mass in the body. It is usually the vegetarians that find a deficit of proteins in their diets. Though vegetables so have some proteins, they are usually in the wrong ratios of bcaa’s (branch chain amino acids). So it is better for vegetarians to have some protein supplements through whey powder.
Whey powder is a much better protein supplement than animal proteins. This is because animal proteins may lose their protein content through cooking, steroids, injection of hormones or through the genetic alteration of the agricultural industry. When on a weight loss program, you have to make it a point to do some exercise to lose as much weight as possible. However, when exercising, it is necessary to consume more than the Recommended Daily Allowances of protein. And the best source of proteins to meet your protein requirements is none other than whey powder.
Though beef, turkey, chicken and egg whites are all great sources of protein, they actually have low biological values when compared to whey protein. Whey protein is today the best source of protein with a high biological value. The biological value is basically the measure used by scientists to find out effectively nitrogen is absorbed into muscles.
Whey proteins have three branched chain amino acids that are found maximum in nature and it is these amino acids that make up a third of muscle protein. However, when taking whey supplements, or any other protein supplements for weight loss, it is necessary to space the protein consumption in a day. This is because it proves to be difficult to digest more than thirty grams of protein in a sitting.

For the last 11 years I’ve suffered from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/Fibromyalgia, with all its associated pain and illness. About 3 months ago I began using a good quality undernatured whey powder (This means it hasn’t gone through the heat process which removes much of the bioactive properties of whey).
In all truth, I’m exercising again for the first time in over a decade, my pain levels are right down and I’m simply having a better day. The amino acids contained in a good quality whey powder have enormous health benefits. I can vouch for them.

I do not consume meats or milk. I use soy protein 3 times a day(before and after my workout in the morning and at midday). Does whey protein contain milk products?
Thanks
Ralph

You should be careful taking too much soy protein. Consuming it at such high levels has been shown to be linked with cancer.

Yes Whey Protein does HELP in Weight Loss..
But is not enough without a proper diet and good aero. exercises!
so( for the beginners ) keep in mind, you’ll not loose fat and gain muscle mass just eating whey protein bars or drinking protein shakes.
