My dinner 09/08/06

As you can see, a big plate of salad and some chicken on top. Miso Soup with flaxseed meal in it. It looks like a balance meal with right amount of meat and lotz of veggie. However, it could be a diet nightmare if you prepare the same food in different way.
I bought the chicken from some Chinese restaurant. It was cooked with soy sauce, which make it really salty. The extra sodium inside the salt can increase you blood pressure right after your meal. Also, it is a chicken leg, which contains much more fat than chicken breast. If you want to make it healthier, put the chicken in water and boil it for a few minute. I know, the taste of the chicken will be wash away by the water. However, the extra salt too! Extra oil inside the chicken will be release. You will be able to see a layer of oil floating on the water. Imagine that oil store in your tummy. That’s not something you wanted, right? Remove the skin of chicken. Most of the fat are store inside and under the skin.
As you can see, there is no salad dressing on the salad. Why? Because salad dressing contain lotz of fat. Most salad dressing is made with mayonnaise, which is high in bad fat. Check the label of you salad dressing and you will see what I am talking about. Merely a teaspoon can bring you extra 100 calories. If you want to cut the salad dressing, try to drink soup with it. Miso or chicken noodle soup will be able to bring favor to you so you won’t feel like you are a cow.
