When i open my mail box today, i found a package from my insurance company (Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield). I am kind of pissed by what’s inside it.
In the package, i found two booklets – How to eat healthy and How to fight obesity. I also found a poster of food pyramid. That’s get me wonder, how dose my insurance company know that i am overweighted?
Horizon is lucky having me as their client because i have not visit any doctor in the last three years. I am also too lazy to do a body checkup. So whatever percentage they took from my paycheck, they profit from it. However, it also mean Horizon has no record on my weight, so how do they know i am fat?
Anyway, i am searching for a Global Health Insurance soon because i will move to China around August and i found that page. Now i understand their motivation. I guess they just send it out to random people cause this package will save Horizon a lot if the guy got motivated and live a healthy life after he read it. There are just too many health conditions that insurance worry obese clients will develop, which will cause them big money in long term
