Some tip on going low carbs
Low carbs diet is not something new. However, it wasn’t popular until Dr. Atkins (Robert Atkins) started his company back in 1989. Basically low Carbs diet is about reducing calories intake from carbohydrate and consuming more food high in proteins.
Carbohydrate will trigger the release a kind of hormone call insulin. When insulin level is high, it will rush glycogen in to your muscle and your liver. It will raise the level of your blood sugar and pushing fat into your body fat store. However, if you keep insulin level low by eating fewer calories, you won’t have this problem. Also, your body will burn more fat during aerobic activity if your insulin is low.
So how many gram of carbohydrate per day is consider low Carbs? Different low Carbs diet plan has different standard. It really depends on which plan you chose.
If you don’t want to get on a plan, here are some rules that you can follow if you want to loss weight by cutting Carbs.
Don’t eat food that are in carbohydrate after 5 PM. Your body will increase more insulin than other time if you eat Carbs.
Never eat Carbs by themselves. Your insulin level will take a big hike quickly. Instead, add some protien like scrambled egg white or cottage cheese
Don’t use sugar. It is the worst kind of Carbohydrate you can get. Instead, try to use artificial sweetener.
If you can’t live without bread or pasta, use the one that is made with 100% whole grain.
Here is a list of food that you should always avoid.
White rice, white bread, pasta, cold cereals, rice cake
most root vegetable, white potato
soda, fruit juice, alcohol.
And you could substitute them with
Yam, oatmeal, whole grain cereal, whole grain bread, sweet potato, legumes
green leaf vegetable
diet soda, fresh squeeze fruit juice

I cannot live without carbs. I love bread absolutely and I am Chinese so I eat a lot of rice. Rice is like a daily ritual for me and like a billion+ other people.
